The Story of Plastic is a seething expose uncovering the ugly truth behind the current global plastic pollution crisis. Striking footage shot over three continents illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash; rivers and seas clogged with waste; and skies choked with the poisonous runoff from plastic production and recycling processes with no end in sight. Original animations, interviews with experts and activists, and never-before-filmed scenes reveal the disastrous consequences of the flood of plastic smothering ecosystems and poisoning communities around the world – and the global movement rising up in response.

La historia del plástico es una exposición hirviente que revela la fea verdad detrás de la actual crisis mundial de contaminación por plástico. Imágenes impactantes filmadas en tres continentes ilustran la catástrofe en curso: campos llenos de basura, verdaderas montañas de basura; ríos y mares obstruidos con desechos; y cielos ahogados con la escorrentía venenosa de los procesos de producción y reciclaje de plástico sin un final a la vista. Animaciones originales, entrevistas con expertos y activistas, y escenas nunca antes filmadas revelan las desastrosas consecuencias de la inundación de ecosistemas que asfixian el plástico y envenenan a las comunidades de todo el mundo, y el movimiento global que surge en respuesta.
