It was so sad when Van Helsing, transformed into a werewolf, accidentally killed Anna.
If not for that, there could have been a sequel, perhaps as a TV Series, with the odd team of Van Helsing, Anna, Carl and Frankenstein's monster. 
On a side note: Actor Hugh Jackman known for his role as Wolverine and in this movie being turned into a werewolf. Coincidence?

I think Anna was happy that the family curse was ended. Sure it cost her life, but she lost her while family and I don't think she would've been able to get over it. In a way it was for the best, because of van helsing stayed cursed, just as her brother, she could never be true my happy.
Also, I think that was a weird concidence. He does play his parts with conviction.
