Overview |
An unworthy nephew, with the help of a girl who seduces the young guardian, robs the aunt of the family jewels. He also manages to put the blame for the theft on the caretaker, engaged to a young woman who is actually the woman's natural daughter. The thief also tries to blackmail his aunt by threatening to reveal the truth after so many years, but a commissioner manages to prove the innocence of the suspect and the guilt of his nephew. |

La signora Eleonora Manieri, ex cantante lirica, dal giorno in cui è rimasta vedova, conduce vita ritirata. Due giovani popolani, Fortuna Carrino e il fidanzato, Stefano Accardi, sono, insieme al commissario di pubblica sicurezza, le uniche persone che frequentano la sua casa. Un giorno arriva a Capri anche il di lei figliastro, Danny Alesco, un bel giovane, ma di vita disonesta, venuto per impadronirsi dei gioielli della matrigna. Una sua complice, Lucienne, circuisce Stefano e lo stacca da Fortuna. Al giovane viene attribuita la responsabilità del furto dei gioielli, commesso da Danny. Questi ha scoperto per caso che Fortuna è figlia della matrigna e pensa di trarre profitto dalla scoperta; ma tutto è inutile, perché uno del commissariato è riuscito a scoprire che Danny è il ladro e Lucienne è la sua complice. I due vengono arrestati: Stefano, rimesso in libertà, corre a riabbracciare Fortuna. |
