All throughout the film you see Zachary and the children growing as characters and becoming friends. In the beginning of the story Zachary is sad, lonely, and has nobody to have fun with. As the movie progresses Zachary has friends and people to talk to, he has crushes, and is behaving as a normal 14 year old boy should. This is completely forgotten though in the end of the film when said 14 year old, just abandons all his progress to go back to his shady "partner" and continue working and getting payed for being fat.

I think that this movie would be sooo much better if Zachary was able to leave his partner and live a more productive life. The ending just made me feel awful for the future Zachary was evidently going to have.
