The action takes place in Aegean region. Melek is the most beautiful woman in the village. She is liked by more men. She get divorce with her husband and this annoys the rest of the villagers. They both want her and hate her. Melek is liked by the most rich man in the village Dönek Husam even though he is married. He wants only to sleep with her but she doesn't love him. He starts to pressure Melek more and more and by the end he hates her and even organize her murder. Melek's daughter's ex-fıancè Yaman has a sexual interest in Melek. He has just returned from the army and he needs sex with a mature and experienced woman. Yaman attacks Melek and tries to rape her but she hits him. Melek starts an avanture with Mert. Dönek Husam campaigning Melek for a witch and he and the other men decide they have to kill her. Melek tries to escape from the village but the men attacks her and kill her with stones.

Melek iki genç kızı ve kocası ile Ege’nin bir taşra kasabasında tatlıcı dükkanı işletmektedir. "Boyu kadar kızları" olmasına rağmen henüz gençliğini ve güzelliğini kaybetmemiş olan Melek’e bazen açıktan bazen gizliden bütün kasaba erkekleri tutkundur. Yaşanan bir ’rezalet’ sonrası kocasını evden kovan Melek’in üzerinde şimdi daha fazla göz, daha fazla baskı vardır. 1960’lar Türkiye'sinde kasaba ve köylerin günlük akışını anlatan hikaye bu sefer cesur bir anlatım ile taşranın yatak odasına giriyor. Necati Cumalı’nın aynı adlı öykü kitabından sinemaya uyarlanan filmin yönetmen koltuğunda ise 18 yıldır kamera arkasına geçmeyen duayen yönetmen Şerif Gören oturuyor. Çekimleri Balıkesir’in Ayvalık ilçesinde tamamlanan filmin yapımcılığını ise yönetmenin oğlu Mehmet Gören üstleniyor.

Fluxo cotidiano de pequenas cidades e vilarejos nas províncias da Turquia na década de 1960, entrando no quarto com uma expressão ousada. Melek, na casa dos quarenta, administra uma loja de doces com o marido em uma cidade rural do Mar Egeu. Ela ainda não perdeu a juventude e a beleza, apesar de ter duas filhas crescidas, mas tem um casamento infeliz.

Um dia, ela pega o marido com um homem e o expulsa de casa. Agora ela tem mais olhos e mais pressão sobre ela na cidade. Ela leva um jovem mulherengo para sua loja como garçom e seus sentimentos reprimidos começam a crescer.
