Discuss Sleepless in Seattle

I noticed some people have this on their lists of favorite soundtracks. When this movie came out my wife watched it with some friends and immediately bought me the CD. I've loved a lot of the music since I was a preteen. My mom made me take piano (starting at 5; I could read music before I could read words. Didn't turn me into a genius, tho'. shrug_tone1 Guess you're born with that!) and I was exposed to some of the early pop music that way. I'd check records out of the library that had the old recordings of certain songs and I got hooked that way! The soundtrack also has a sprinkling of some selections from my era as a teen like Carly Simon and Joe Cocker. I can't believe this movie is 24 years old this year. But the music to me is timeless.

It is indeed. It was genius to comprise the soundtrack of these classic songs instead of original background music that might have been forgettable. These songs put you in exactly the right mood, and turn the story into something really magical.

Interesting. I came away from that movie not remembering or thinking about the music at all. In fact I'd have to look it up to see what songs are on it because I have no idea.
