Discuss The Edge

So what you think, would Bob really shoot Charles if he didnt fell into bear trap? Not sure if Charles was serious about telling him he wouldnt do it or he just didnt want to argue. Though he really had to drink a lot to get the courage and still moved back when Charles went to him instead shooting in cold blood, so now I think maybe he wouldnt be actually able to do it.

That seems to me to be the toughest question that the film poses. Bob talked really tough in that scene, but as you wrote, he did hesitate. I think the screenwriter David Mamet wanted to make us wonder, crafting the scene’s outcome the way he did. This was once my favorite film.
