Isn't Alien: Romulus part of the Alien series?

not an answer, but an additional question... Wikipedia shows this movie as being part of the "Prometheus" collection (also an Alien spin-off collection)... so shouldn't the movie be at least part of that collection, even if it is not part of the original Alien collection?

Collections are only for proper sequels. Universes will eventually be used to group all the Alien films.

They're not considered sequels to each other. They're just two stand-alone Alien films.

i would agree with you except

  1. alien Romulus isn't even in the Prometheus collection
  2. the body of the xenomorph from the first alien movie appears in romulus

so i would think Alien: Romulus should be in the Alien Collection

Alien: Covenant on the other hand absolutely not

the body of the xenomorph from the first alien movie appears in romulus

Okay, and? It does have ties to the original series, and it well know it is set between Alien and Aliens. It is however not a sequel to the Alien Collection.
