Handlung

Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini arrives in 1889 New York City and is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever seen.

A cracking movie!

I can't say I was expecting much from 'Cabrini', given I hadn't heard anything about it online or in real life - no trailers or anything of ilk. I was also alone in the cinema, which is pleasing personally but is possibly a bad sign for a movie. In actuality, though, it's a great production! Supremely acted, astutely paced, some awesome visuals and a strong score.

The cinematography really is excellent, I lost count the amount of times I thought to myself "What a... weiterlesen.
