First-rate adaptation of the 1930 Noël Coward play.

I've long been a fan of this movie. It's a thorough delight, from start to finish, with spot-on perfect performances by the four main players (Norma Shearer, Robert Montgomery, Reginald Denny, Una Merkel), sparkling sophisticated, endlessly witty dialogue, truly hilarious comedy, and a great marital fight for the ages.

While I realize the film doesn't wind up on a civil note for Victor and Sibyl (the new spouses of, respectively, Amanda and Elyot), still I'm always left feeling, when watching this, that they ultimately wind up a couple, and married to one another, after story's end.
