Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English actress, model, director, and activist. She is best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.

Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), portraying the role for ten years until the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). Following the series, Wright appeared in a string of independent films, including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014); the films received mixed reviews. She made her stage debut as the lead in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.

Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in filmmaking. She subsequently founded her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began to produce short films. Her first directorial project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012), starring David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. She directed Know Thyself (2016), starring Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016), both of which featured landscape and emotion as themes. Wright's three-part series, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. She released Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs, based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for artists Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn, and Scarlett Johansson.

Wright has gained recognition for her environmental activism; she is also an ambassador for the charities Greenpeace and Lumos.

En 2012, elle fonde sa propre société de production nommé Bon Bon Lumière et réalise son premier court-métrage "Separate We Come, Separate We Go" qui sera présenté en avant-première mondiale au Festival de Cannes 2012. En 2014, elle met en avant l'acteur Christian Coulson dans son court-métrage "Know Thyself".

Actrice très engagée dans les associations caritatives, elle est nommée ambassadrice de l'association Lumos. Fortement impliquée dans les causes et associations écologistes, elle devient officiellement en 2019 une militante et ambassadrice de l'organisation Greenpeace, où elle use de sa notoriété pour sensibiliser la préservation de l'environnement.

En avril 2022, elle publie son premier livre nommé "Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet".

Nachdem sie in der Verfilmung des ersten Harry-Potter-Bandes nicht viel mehr als eine Komparsenrolle hatte, wurde ihr Charakter in Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens der Handlung im Buch entsprechend stark ausgebaut, im nächsten Film aber wieder auf eine Komparsenrolle reduziert. In Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch war sie wiederum stark präsent. Wright setzte ihre Rolle in Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix fort. Als Vorbereitung für die Kampfszenen in diesem Film absolvierte Wright ein Stunttraining. Im sechsten Buch Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz wurden Harry Potter und Ginny Weasley ein Paar, was auch im gleichnamigen Film umgesetzt wurde. Dadurch wurde ihre Rolle wieder zu einer der wichtigsten. Wright drehte ab Juli 2011 The Philosophers – Wer überlebt? unter anderem mit Harry-Potter-Co-Star Freddie Stroma. Der Film erschien 2013.

Nach den Dreharbeiten zu Harry Potter und die Heiligtümer des Todes begann Wright am London College of Communication ein Studium im Bereich Film- und Fernsehproduktion, das sie 2012 mit einem Bachelor of Arts abschloss.
