Ashlee Nicolle Ross, (née Simpson; born October 3, 1984), is an American recording artist and actress. Simpson, who is the younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson, rose to prominence in mid-2004 through the success of her number-one debut album Autobiography and the accompanying reality series The Ashlee Simpson Show. Simpson received widespread notoriety when she attempted to lip-sync with a pre-recorded vocal track on Saturday Night Live in October 2004.

Following a North American concert tour and a film appearance, Simpson released a second number-one album, I Am Me, in October 2005. Her third album, Bittersweet World, was released in April 2008. The following month, she married musician Pete Wentz and announced that they were expecting a child. On November 20, 2008, Simpson gave birth to their son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Simpson filed for divorce on February 8, 2011, citing "irreconcilable differences."

En 2004, elle accède à la notoriété avec le succès de son premier album intitulé Autobiography. Elle avait également sa propre émission de télé-réalité intitulée The Ashlee Simpson Show qui a duré deux saisons. Après une tournée en Amérique du Nord et un film, Ashlee sort son deuxième album en 2005 intitulé I Am Me.

En 2008, elle publie son 3e opus, intitulé Bittersweet World, qui comprend le tube Outta My Head produit par Timbaland et Little Miss Obsessive. En 2012, elle dévoile son dernier single en date Bat For A Heart. En parallèle, elle obtient le rôle de Roxie Hart dans la comédie musicale Chicago à Broadway et à Hollywood Bowl à Los Angeles, mais également l'un des rôles principaux dans la série Melrose Place : Nouvelle Génération8.

En 2018, elle est de retour via la télé-réalité Ashlee+Evan, démontrant sa vie de couple avec Evan Ross, qui est diffusée sur E! Entertainment Television.
