Corentin Fila

Biography

Corentin Fila (born 28 September 1988) is a French actor.

Son of a French specialized teacher and Franco-Congolese director David-Pierre Fila, Corentin obtained a degree in economics at Paris-Descartes while doing modeling. At the age of 23, he was inspired after watching a performance of The Suit, a Peter Brook play with South African actors, and decided to enter the acting profession. He enrolled at the Cours Florent to study acting in 2012. He landed his first major role in 2016 in the André Téchiné's film Being 17. He was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actor for his role in the film.

He starred in A Paris Education (Mes provinciales) by Jean-Paul Civeyrac in 2018. In 2019, he appeared in the Netflix television production, Mortel.

Fils d'une institutrice spécialisée française et du réalisateur franco-congolais David-Pierre Fila, Corentin obtient une licence d'économie à Paris-Descartes tout en faisant du mannequinat.

À 23 ans, il ressent un choc à la vue de The Suit, une pièce de Peter Brook portée par des acteurs sud-africains, et décide de se lancer dans le métier d'acteur, entrant au cours Florent en 20123.

Repéré par André Téchiné lors d'un casting pour son film Quand on a 17 ans, tourné en 2015, Corentin Fila y joue un des rôles principaux, Thomas, lycéen le jour, éleveur le soir, aux côtés de Kacey Mottet-Klein (Damien) et Sandrine Kiberlain (Marianne).

Il a d'ailleurs été nommé en 2017, au côté de Kacey Mottet-Klein, pour le César du meilleur espoir masculin dans Quand on a 17 ans.
