Born and bred in Stockholm, Sweden, Annika picked up a stills camera at the age of 12 and her passion for the image has been with her ever since.

After gaining her MA in Cinematography at UK's prestigious National Film & Television School NFTS, Annika stayed on and is now based in North London but works worldwide in drama, commercials and music promos. She has recently proudly received the SUE GIBSON CINEMATOGRAPHY AWARD for her work on Mogul Mowgli.

Her graduation film Until The River Runs Red directed by Paul Wright won a BAFTA for Best Short Film. Her work has received major awards including UKMVAs, an Amanda (Norwegian BAFTA), Honorary Mention for Outstanding Cinematography for her work on Camping With Ada, the FIPRESCI award (International critics prize) at Berlinale 2020 for Mogul Mowgli, which also recently picked up 7 BIFA 2021 nominations, including one for Best Cinematography and a BAFTA nomination for Best British Film 2021..

Her background includes invaluable experience in the lighting department as well as working for cinematography legend Christopher Doyle.

Her feature film credits include Bfi funded Postcards From London, BBC rap-battle feature VS. and Pulse Film’s Mogul Mowgli starring Riz Ahmed. Her latest feature (BFI/ Film4/ Film Wales) Censor was shot on 35mm and premiered in Sundance January 2021 to great acclaim. Censor had it’s European premier at Berlinale June 2021, followed by a UK cinema release in August.

Annika has recently conceptualised and completed ep 1-3 on Sky TV series Then You Run shooting in Berlin; 10 episodes of drama comedy Breeders starring Martin Freeman; 3 episodes of BBC drama ‘Clique S2’ as well as a 10 episode TV-comedy drama for the main Norwegian TV-channel NRK One Night/En Natt, which was experimentally filmed once in English, and once in Norwegian/Swedish. She currently prepping a new series for Disney shooting in the UK and LA, working title Wedding Season.

When she’s not shooting she’s hiding in her wooden lake house in Sweden.
