Aiko Mila Beemsterboer (2000) is een jonge getalenteerde Nederlandse actrice. Ze speelde haar eerste rol in de speelfilm LEVE BOERENLIEFDE (2013) op 9-jarige leeftijd.

Vorig jaar speelde Aiko haar eerste hoofdrol in de speelfilm VECHTMEISJE (2018). Ze speelt Bo, een 12-jarige getalenteerde, maar temperamentvolle kickboxer. Bo’s ouders vechten continue en liggen in scheiding, en ze moet leren haar emoties onder controle te houden maar ook accepteren dat ze niet alles kan controleren. VECHTMEISJE heeft een aantal awards gewonnen, waaronder de ‘Young Audience Award’ op de European Film Awards in 2019, de ‘ECFA Award’ op het BUFF International Film Festival, en de ‘Audience Award’ en den ‘Cinekid Film Award’ op het Cinekid Festival. Tevens is de film erg goed ontvangen door de Nederlandse pers, met veel positieve reacties op Aiko’s sterke acteerwerk.

She is distracted by her fighting parents who are in the middle of a divorce, and needs to learn how to control her emotions and, at the same time, accept the fact that she can’t control everything. VECHTMEISJE received multiple awards, such as the ‘Young Audience Award’ at the European Film Awards in 2019, ‘ECFA Award’ at the BUFF International Film Festival and the ‘Audience Award’ and ‘Cinekid Film Award’ at Cinekid. The film was well received by the Dutch press, with many positive notes on Aiko’s powerful performance.
