Biography

Azizi Johari was born on August 24, 1948 in New York City. Since her father was in the service, Johari grew up all over the world before her family eventually settled in Seattle, Washington. Azizi attended both high school and college in Seattle. She loves to meditate and read poetry. Her professional name is a pseudonym which means "precious jewel" in Swahili. Johari was the Playmate of the Month in the June, 1975 issue of "Playboy." She holds the distinction of being the fourth African-American woman to be a Playmate. Azizi toured with Sammy Davis, Jr. Moreover, Johari not only acted in the films "The Killing of a Chinese Bookie," "Dreamer," "Seed of Innocence," and "Body and Soul," but also made a guest appearance on an episode of the TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man."
