Iain Alan Sutherland Glen (born 24 June 1961) is a Scottish actor. Glen is best known for his roles as Dr. Alexander Isaacs/Tyrant in three films of the Resident Evil film series (2004–2016) and as Ser Jorah Mormont in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019). Other notable roles include John Hanning Speke in Mountains of the Moon (1990), Larry Winters in Silent Scream (1990) for which he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor from the Berlin International Film Festival, Manfred Powell in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Brother John in Song for a Raggy Boy (2003), the title role in Jack Taylor (2010–2016), Sir Richard Carlisle in Downton Abbey (2011), James Willett in Eye in the Sky (2015), and Bruce Wayne in Titans (2019–present).

In der fünften Staffel der BBC-Serie Doctor Who spielte er Father Octavian in den Episoden The Time of Angels und Flesh and Stone. Zwischen 2011 und 2019 war er in der HBO-Serie Game of Thrones als Ser Jorah Mormont in einer Hauptrolle zu sehen. In den Jack-Taylor-Verfilmungen nach den Kriminalromanen von Ken Bruen verkörpert er seit 2010 den irischen Titelhelden, außerdem stellte er in der zweiten Staffel der europäischen Serie Borgia den florentinischen Dominikaner Girolamo Savonarola dar.

Iain Glen urodził się w Edynburgu w Szkocji w 1961 r. i studiował w Królewskiej Akademii Sztuk Dramatycznych w Londynie. Zdobywszy spore uznanie jako aktor teatralny zarówno w klasycznych jak i współczesnych rolach, Glen od pewnego czasu może być podziwiany także na dużym ekranie "Paris by Night", "Goryle we mgle" (Gorillas in the Mist), "Mountains of the Moon", "Silent Scream", "Fools of Fortune". Regularnie pracuje też w telewizji. Nicole Kidman wybrała go na swego partnera w sztuce "The Blue Room", która była wystawiana w Londynie i na Broadwayu.

Iain Glen nació en Edimburgo, Escocia, y se educó en la Edinburgh Academy, un colegio independiente para chicos (ahora mixto) en Edimburgo. Asistió a la Universidad de Aberdeen y se entrenó en la prestigiosa escuela Royal Academy of Dramatic Art "RADA", donde ganó la Brancroft Gold Medal.
