Fatih Akin (Turkish: Fatih Akın, born 25 August 1973) is a Turkish-German film director, screenwriter and producer.[1] His films have won numerous awards and accolades, including the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for his film Head-On (2004), Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival for his film The Edge of Heaven (2007), and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film for his film In the Fade (2017).

Fatih Akin ist ein deutscher Filmregisseur, Drehbuchautor, Darsteller und Produzent. Für seinen vierten Spielfilm Gegen die Wand mit Birol Ünel und Sibel Kekilli in den Hauptrollen wurde er 2004 mit dem Goldenen Bären, dem Deutschen Filmpreis und dem Europäischen Filmpreis ausgezeichnet. 2018 erhielt sein Spielfilm Aus dem Nichts den Golden Globe.

Director alemán nacido en Berlín, de padres turcos. Estudió Ciencias Audiovisuales en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Hamburgo y se licenció en 1995. Ese mismo año realizó su primer corto, Sensin – du bist es!, que ganó el Premio del Público en el Festival de Cortometrajes de Hamburgo. En 1998 dirigió su primer largo, Corto y con filo, que ganó el Leopardo de Bronce en el Festival de Locarno y el Premio al Mejor Joven Realizador en el Festival de Baviera. En 2003 realizó Contra la pared, galardonada con el Oso de Oro del Festival de Berlín y elegida Mejor Película por los Premios del Cine Europeo y por la Academia de Cine Alemana.

Народився 25 серпня 1973 року у Гамбурзі. Освіту здобув у Коледжі прикладних мистецтв. Перша ж короткометражка Фатіха Акіна, «Sensin — Du Bist Es» 1995 року, здобула нагороду на Міжнародному фестивалі короткого метру у Гамбурзі.

У 2018 підтримав звернення Європейської кіноакадемії на захист ув'язненого у Росії українського режисера Олега Сенцова.
