Andrés Wood (1965, Chile). After studying economics at the University of Chile he left for New York, where he attended a film course. When he returned to Chile he made his first feature film 'Historias de fútbol' which was a box-office hit.

Después de estudiar Ingeniería Comercial en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, viajó a Nueva York a estudiar dirección de fotografía.

Es conocido por haber digirido La Fiebre del Loco (2001), Machuca (2004), película que recibió amplia aclamación crítica, y Violeta se fue a los Cielos (2011), basada en la biografía homónima que Angel Parra escribió sobre su madre, la cantautora chilena Violeta Parra.
