Tom Cruise and my moral dilemma about seeing this movie

OL I cannot write much because every time i am almost done the page goes blank. The way SC treats its former members or ones who are about to leave is nothing short of what The Corleone family would do. They are being investigated for several murders, stalking and making threats, No TC does not seem to be involved but he is the FACE of that organization. Since I have seen all this I refuse to watch a TC movie. I really don't care what religion an actor or actress belong to. However I will draw the line when you are giving that religion millions and they are shady as hell but you won't speak of it. Muslims speak out against their extremist. Christians will speak out against the Westboro babtist church, but of you speak out against SC you are labled an enemy of the church a bigot and a suppresive person. You can see all this on you tube, going clear and a couple of other docu's.
I am not trying to keep anyone from seeing this movie, I am just trying to start a dialogue with ALL members of this board, I am imterested in how you feel about this. thanls

I don't think he is. He has SC servants at his beck and call 27/7. Servant that he pays no money for. the 'church" pays them but only a few cents an hour and you are in big trouble if Tom cruise complains about you. Leah Remini was at his home once and he had just gotten with Kate, she jokenly told them to get a room because they were all over each other and Leah got sent to Clearwater Fl, for 3 months on her dime, and had to do Auditing sessions and write down what she did wrong to the church and to Tom Cruise.
TC would only lose servants at his beck and call, people to find him a wife, personal trainers, Massage therapist and all the power he gets from the church.
His best friend is David MisCavige, the leader of the church, He gets all the perks and none of the drawbacks of the church. Even if he doesnt know about the deaths, Tom should know what happened to Shelley Miscavige, David's wife. She just disappeared. When Leah Remini left SC she filed a missing persons report on her (thinking she was stuck in one of Scientology's prisons) because David suddenely had a pretty young thing on his arm and you are not allowed to bring up shelley. Well Leah called the LAPD a few weeks later because they never got back to her and the lAPD said the matter was private. That is not true, it is a public matter, she sent her lawer down there and all they would say was"mrs mcavige is alive and they know this because they spoke to her"
TC also sent his 13 yo neice to Clearwater where she could do nothing but study SC and have auditing sessions. She was allowed no phone, no contact with her family because of her crime, which was kissing a boy her age, Tom saw it on the security footage so she was sent away with no contact, last I heard she was still there after 2 years. So he is actively involved in in seeing members of the church get punished if if they piss him off.

Personally, I have been avoiding Tom Cruise. You know how some movie actors or actresses rub you the wrong way and you just can’t stand them for some unknown reason? Tom Cruise is it for me, and it has nothing to do with his religion. The only time I ever liked him was when he was completely unrecognizable in Tropic of Thunder. I did watch MI5, but that’s because I made a trade with my hubby, who had to accompany me to a movie I wanted to see.
I was thinking of watching MI6 but more to check out HC, but I may wait for it on Blu-Ray. There are other blockbusters coming out there so I’d rather save the movie budget for those and wait for the MI6 Blu-Ray.

hi Toni! I dont think I would even buy the Blu-Ray, maybe I will catch it if it comes on cable, as long as I am not putting any money in TCs pocket. To me its just as bad as watching an actor who is a Trump supporter. Now hear me out. 1.Most Trumpers are racist.

Yeah, I knew he was a Scientologist nut and I knew he is tight w/the leader of the church. Personally, I thought TC just poured money into the church, which is a big money grab.
I remember once I was taking pictures with friends outside of the church's Christmas scene. It was after midnight in Hollywood, and wouldn't you know, there were some people running out asking for money for the picture. I was like WTF?
This display is right next to the sidewalk. I was like deuces and split with my crew.

I dont know if he is a Trump supporter but his tolerance for b.s is really high. if you get a chance watch The Master, it's about the beginning of Scientology with the late but great Philip Seymour Hoffman and he is l Ron Hubbard in everything but name. The church got pissed and threw lawsuits at them until they made him a fictional carather.
Wow I cannot believe they asked you for money, some christmas spirit they have! the people that have left the church are working on getting thier tax exempt status removed. I hope they get it done. Considering you have to pay a lot of money to go through their 100s of courses, that does not sound like a religion to me. I have been to both Buddihist and christian churches, most Buddhist temples have an offering plate up front and you put money in it when you can. Christian churches pass around the offering plate during the service. this place cost you money at every turn. when its all done and you finish level 8 you have paid enough money for a Graduate degree. Its crazy that they dp not have to pay taxes.

MI 6 is coming out in July. Would it be available by September on Blu-Ray? It would take a while to get to Netflix (at least in my corner of the world).
I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll really bother watching this movie. I always make the effort to see HC’s movies but that ridiculous moustache he has for MI6 is such a turn-off, particularly when it caused so much problems for the JL reshoots.
In some ways, I thought his character would become a team member of Tom Cruise’s team or he could even take over TC’s lead role in the franchise (TC is getting a bit old even though he is super fit.) It would be nice to see him in a franchise that actually works. But nope... His role is most likely a one-off for this franchise given he’s the ‘bad guy’.
