Discuss David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough turns 91 today, 8 May. My lifelong hero, I have thrilled to his documentaries countless times over the years. Meeting him at a book signing a few years back was a moment that made me literally giddy. Generally at these events the organisers do all they can to get you in and out quickly, but Sir David took the time to exchange a few words with all - and there were many - who queued to greet him. A perfect gentleman, wise, sharp and witty, and blessed with the most wonderful voice in broadcasting along with an enthusiasm for nature that has rubbed off into me since I was a very small kid. There will never, ever be another David Attenborough - many happy returns, Sir!

Sir David Attenborough, younger brother of Richard Attenborough, is unequaled as a presenter and narrator of documentaries on nature and animal life. I enjoyed watching them all.
