Invasion: Delusions of Grandeur

Not so much "slow burn" but more "no burn". I'm quite partial to slow sci-fi, but this has no characters I can care about, zero charm or personality, and a glacial non-sensical plot. It mistakes "sombre and ponderous" for "meaningful": it's basically B-movie, ID4-style schlock, but thinks it's Citizen Kane.

I write this after watching Season 2 Episode 5. I keep thinking it'll get better ... it has to get better. It won't. Don't make the same mistake I did – there's still time to save yourself.

On the plus side, it looks lovely and is quite good for the five seconds Sam Neil is in it.
