Malgré les risques énormes, Hilde décide de s'engager elle-même, mais elle est arrêtée par la Gestapo et donne naissance à son fils en prison. Désormais dans une situation désespérée, Hilde développe une force d'inspiration tranquille, mais il ne lui reste que quelques mois à vivre avec son fils.
