There are apparently two actors called Simon Baker, but for some reason when adding actors to a movie, the automatic suggestion only gives the less famous one, as does the search, and as a result, their filmographies have become mixed. Also, someone had 'fixed' the lesser known Simon Baker's biography to include the more famous one's info, including the photo.
I fixed the biographical info for the less famous SB, but I can't switch the movies (Women in Trouble, Book of Love, Restaurant) from him to the correct SB since the dropdown menu only suggests one of them :/

Hi, the problem here is that for some reason the famous Simon Baker is erroneously set as a porn actor (Adult Actor: True) which likely is why you won't see that profile as an option. I'll try to find out what's happened here and then get back to you.

Is there any reason why we can't enforce unique actor names? According to the Screen Actors Guild:
"Like other guilds and associations that represent actors, SAG rules stipulate that no two members may have identical working names. An actor whose name has already been taken must choose a new name. Notable examples include Michael Keaton, Michael J. Fox and Emma Stone, whose birth names "Michael Douglas", "Michael Fox" and "Emily Stone," respectively, were already in use."

I had to move all credits (and some other data) to a new profile. This is a bug that I have seen some other times, but it's not very common.
Good question. The less famous Simon Baker looks to go by Simon R. Baker these days. Maybe the fact that the famous Simon Baker came from Australia and the other one is Canadian had something to do with it. Since these both have good profile images that look very different I don't think there should be much confusion though. Adding alternative names is also helpful.
Still, I don't like the idea of enforcing names that may not be widely used. And what about crew credits. For example, I had to create another Simon Baker credit just now since it was incorrectly credited to famous Simon Baker.

Ya, we probably can't enforce uniqueness because not all of the actors we have will be part of the SAG.
FYI: The only way an actor gets marked as an adult actor is when the ratio of adult to non adult films is over 10%. In most cases there's a movie that got marked as adult that shouldn't have been and fixing that movie would bring that ratio back down and set it to false.
Cheers.

Yes, that is the normal way to solve these cases, but not this one and that's why I think this must be a bug. I checked famous Simon Baker's movies and they were all correctly set to adult false. I also checked after having moved each movie credit. Interestingly enough, after I had moved the movie credits, the status changed. So the bug had nothing to do with the TV credits, but maybe that was expected.
I checked my notes and here is another profile with this adult:true bug that I haven't fixed yet. I just confirmed that all 13 movies are correctly set to adult false.

Ya, movie credits are not built in a great manner. I have plans to migrate them to the TV style model but it's a huge job. There are a few bugs lingering around. In the future though, if you want to ping me about other people like this I can manually investigate and switch it. That is probably easier then re-doing their entire credit list.
Thanks.

Sure. But it's been very rare. Maybe one more like this that I fixed in the past. The others were profiles with one credit set to adult:true by mistake.
