I respectfully disagree. These are obviously meant to be collections - that's why they are named a collection! And there is no actual movie called "the pixar short film collection". They are not "videos" as you say. And the fact that they are not sequels is irrelevant, they are part of an ongoing series. If they are not collections, why do they exist? We don't need these entries in order to create a list.
If you are not going to update them they should be deleted since there is no content associated with these entries.
Plus, what is the list feature used for if there is no support for it? At least the autoboxsets plugin works with collections. This plugin works well and making the rules for collections unnecessarily restrictive just serves to limit the usefulness of this plugin. You are letting a pedantic notion of what constitutes a collection get in the way of things working simply and easily. I would argue that having a separate lists feature achieves nothing except to overcomplicate things and just results in things breaking. Which is the only reason I am bothering to write this, if it just worked I would never have even noticed.
Yes, these videos CONTAIN THE MOVIES IN THE COLLECTION. THAT"S WHAT MAKES IT A COLLECTION.
And saying that, that's the rule, someone else must have done it for a reason, shows that there is no reason. All it serves to do is break the functionality of the autoboxset plugin.
There is no functional difference between a list and a collection. Period. Thanks to this attitude, there is no way to get the correct behavior. The movie won't be treated as a collection, and won't download any metadata or images. Great. Remind me again what this site is for?
Simply said, collections are a way to indicate sequels. Those shorts are in no way related to each other. They aren't sequels. They are merely all created by the same production guys. Then you can also put Cinderella and The Jungle Book in a collection... Which would make no sense. That's what lists are for. You can make you own "collection" of anything, related or not. Maybe you like a list of all films starring a certain actor/actress, than you can use the List functionality _^
Why the Pixar Shorts Collection Volumes are set as videos, is because they are not movies, but can be in the movie section nonetheless because its "compilation of children's programming".
You should request support for lists from the developers of whatever software you use. There's a plugin for Kodi being developed that uses lists, hopefully other software will also add support for lists.
@WardenclyffeTower Do you know if they've finished the development for the Kodi add-on or where I can find any information about it? I've tried searching, but I can't get any good results.
Can't find a movie or TV show? Login to create it.
