I understand that there ways to get IMDB ID of the movies or TV series by doing secondary requests for Details or /find once internal ID is found. But I was hoping to get IMDB id in one request while doing Searches (/search/tv, search/movie, /search/multi). Currently, I do not see a way to do it. those search APIs doe snot seem to support &append_to_response either. Please advise if I am missing something? How do I get IMDB ID in a single Search request?

Hi @ma99us No, there is no easier way. You have to query the media item.

I see, maybe it is worth to consider including imdb_id into standard result item, which /search returns?

I don't think I'll ever implement that. It's just an external identifier and with more and more ids getting added over time, there's nothing special about it compared to any other.

In that case, what about making /search/.. request to support &append_to_response feature where external IDs could be returned?

There are no plans for that right now but it could be something to look at in the future for sure.

Hi, Is this feature (&append_to_response in /search) still not in any plans? Would highly appreciate if this was added since I identify most media by IMDB ID.
Great API and Thank you!

I do not think so. I've never seen.
If and when added to Trello's To-Do list, then it will be possible.
If you wish, you can enter the list and vote for the items of interest.
And you can also search for themes and subjects.
