I found image formats for the Logo type images, but was unable to locate for posters or backdrops. I am asking vs testing as I do not wish to upload improper images or convert images just for the sake of trying. I often find images of the type PNG and WEBP when searching, but it seems that each time I try to add them, it tells me they are invalid. I am unsure if this is due to the file type or one to many of the aspects of the image. Could you direct me to such detail if it exists, or provide the details if it does not?

I understand that image quality is always a concern. Knowing this, when you take a JPEG and modify it in any way and resave to a JPEG (like the required cropping), you will lose quality each time this is done. A big advantage to using PNG and WEBP is that the image can be lossless, thus allowing such edits without the loss of quality allowing us to better maintain the best quality images possible. As time goes on, obtaining images for movies gets harder and harder. If you have a movie 3 years old and want to replace a poor image, it is relatively easy to find a proper image and correct it. Now if you take a 20 year old movie, finding replacement images can be quite difficult, especially for those that were not big box performers. It is for these reasons that I ask, as the intent is to preserve the best images possible. I also question the sizing requirements. For example limiting a poster to 2000 x 3000. Today that size seems large enough for most anything, but we thought the same of smaller images just a few years back. I keep images mostly for audio and recall well when 500 x 500 was the ideal size. Today an image of that size is considered on the low end of acceptable. For that reason I have personally archived some crazy sized images, like BMPs in the 20-30MB range, simply because those were the original ones provided and converting them would only reduce the quality of images I might never be able to replace.
