A USO band comprised of three female dancers, a sax players, and a singer, completes their performance at an outlying base, and are rushed to a helicopter to be flown to their next destination. None of them get a chance to even change their costumes. The helicopter is shot down and the entire crew is killed. Meanwhile, Bravo company is out on a recon, and Taylor who is on point, thinks he must be going crazy when he sees the girl in hot pants and leather boots. Bravo company takes the girls with them but can't call in for help because the radio's batteries are dead.The USO people make the transition to ""soldier"" with various degrees of success.

Lors d'une mission de reconnaissance, la compagnie se retrouve face à un groupe USO dont l'hélicoptère vient d'être abattu. Long John est le leader et avide de la guerre mais n'a pas été enrôlé à cause de son épilepsie, Collins est un joueur de saxophone névrosé, Colby est insensible aux hommes car elle a déjà perdu deux petits amis, soldats eux-aussi, et April est le plus calme et le plus fort du groupe...

Während einer Aufklärungsmission treffen die Männer von der BRAVO-Kompanie auf die Musiker einer Band, die im Auftrag der Armee zur Truppenunterhaltung in Vietnam unterwegs war, als ihr Hubschrauber abgeschossen wurde. Für die BRAVO-Männer ist es gar nicht so einfach, mit den Musikern klarzukommen, bis sie sie wieder in Sicherheit gebracht haben.

미군위문협회 소속의 공연단이 탑승한 헬기가 베트콩의 총격을 받게 되고, 순찰 중이던 브라보 중대원들에게 그들의 운명이 맡겨진다. 군인 집안에 태어났지만 간질이라는 질병 때문에 입대를 못 한 롱 존과 동료 가수들은 브라보 중대와 정글 속에서 힘든 행군을 이어가야 한다.
