While I agree with you, I think it was a dumb decision by Rick and committee to trust the Garbage Pail Kids in the first place. They interact with them minimally and on your first encounter you think it smart to recruit them to fight a war on your behalf. Honestly they should have seen some drama with the GBK coming. I was expecting them to do something, either being a secret ally of Negan from the get, or completely no showing for battle.

My assumption is Michonne will get the kill on Jadis next season. For the double cross yeah, but most importantly for steppin' to her man all disrespectful an ****, lol.

I don't get it. Rick offered them a third of everything the Saviors have. Negan wasn't nearly so generous. How is that a better deal? And how could Jadis not realize the Saviors don't tolerate independent communities in their domain? If Alexandria fell Negan would own her traitorous ***. Yes, at some point next season someone will have to take out the garbage.

Maybe it was just a means to the endgame, an attempt by the writers to ratchet up tension with a big double cross before the cavalry arrives. Reminds me of a B western.

I couldn't figure out how Negan knew that Rick was plotting something until the trashmen turned coat.

I was thinking the same thing. Oceanside's reaction seemed plausible - why take on a massively powerful group who isn't aware you exist? The Garbage Pailers also seemed to be under Negan's radar, and they suddenly decide to become cannon fodder for Rick because he promises them a few guns?

No. Rick promised them a third of everything the Saviors have, which is a veritable mountain of loot. That's why I don't understand why she thought Negan offered them a better deal. And unless Jadis talks that way because of severe brain damage, she has to realize Rick is an honorable man and Negan is not. Why you'd make a deal with the devil, when there are better options, is beyond me.

Yeah I remember the promise, it just seemed pretty far-fetched to me that such a reclusive group - they choose to hide in a dump - would ever hire on as mercenaries, whatever the promised payoff. They would more likely wait it out the war and pick off the survivors.

Why is it hard to think outside the box and assume that not everything is as it appears. For instance, those Garbage Pail Kids don't really talk much or give much information. They said that they followed Rick, who took the goods from the boat. They seemed like they were panicked and that's why they kidnapped Gabriel. My guess is, they were planning to steal it from whomever stole the boat goods for Negan.

Next thing you know, the people working under Negan gets an offer from another group to join them and take down Negan. Knowing how powerful Negan is, and assuming that they don't think they'll win, they make another deal. Offer info about the rebellion to Negan, and Negan reduces their "tax."

To me, that's a better deal than fighting a war you're going to lose, even if you conned a person to arm you.

Not to mention, trying to "get with" him. Michonne is not having that.

Agreed. I hope she is dead...soon! I hate that woman!

I might have thought the same thing, except for the way Jadis said to Negan that the deal was for twelve people. Negan (not surprisingly) changed the terms and reduced it to ten. The garbage people are going to be working for him, make no mistake, but if they already were their leader wouldn't be talking to him that way. Negan doesn't negotiate with his workers. He dictates terms. Jadis stupidly assumes she can cut one deal with the guy and then go their separate ways. Not happening. Boy is she going to regret betraying Rick. And that's before someone from Alexandria takes her down. My money's on Michonne. She says "We take, we don't bother" and then chops Jadis' head off.
