I'm surprised there'd be any fans of Ed. He was scum.

Ed was ahead of his time. Place Rick from season 5 onward in the first season and he'd be viewed as a villain. Ed saw what needed to be done, and he acted accordingly. It's not his fault the rest of the characters were too naïve and inexperienced to heed his sage advice.

Are we talking about the same character? Ed Pelletier, Carol's abusive, pedophile, rapist, woman-beating, lazy, selfish, husband?

Ahead of his time? What are you talking about?

Exactly this. Ed was a visionary.

Ok then. I'm done here.

You're a real piece of work, you know that?

Perhaps, but I'm not the one turning the conversation from the topic to the person.

What are you talking about? "Ed" was a an alcoholic pedophile who beat his wife and molested his daughter. He was always perving on women less than half his age and would then threaten them when they all rejected him. He was snivelling little loudmouth coward, who was afraid of his own shadow, which is why he always carried a gun. No one likes him.

Most people hate "Ed". People feel sympathetic to "Carol", who was skeeved out by him because he was a creepy alcoholic wife beater and adulterer who lusted after his own young daughter and her friends. She tried to cut off all communication with him, but he pursued her relentlessly and tried to control her by negging and threats .

In a pre-apocalyptic world, he probably sat around unemployed, drinking and playing online video games with teenagers, and sending dick pics of his undersize junk to underaged girls, while Carol was out working.

Carol even wished he would leave the group and go back to Corpus Christi and die in a hurricane. Thankfully her wish came true when "Shane's" brutal beating lead to his death. Ed's gun didn't seem to help him much then, lol. I guess he was just a little loudmouth pu$$y that was only "tough" with women.

I think everyone could relate to the satisfaction Carol got when she sunk that pickaxe into his brain.
