混迹码头的帮会成员林昔，因一把钥匙被迫卷入了军统与日本侵略者之间的情报战争中，因此也与好兄弟李云飞共同结识了进步女学生苏楠及正直有原则的军统特工周应群。钥匙背后的真相层层剥落，帮派之争、家国之乱也随之而来。纷争中，林昔、周应群和李云飞历经生死，成为兄弟；林昔对苏楠萌生了爱情，产生了对共产主义信仰的向往。七年过后，散落于天涯的三兄弟重聚于锦州，再相见时三人地位也已天差地别，三人各怀目的，在情报战场上为各自所代表的的阵营相互争夺。新仇旧恨，理想相悖，在情报之争与枪林弹雨中，三兄弟坦然接受各自的命运，释怀选择，相互和解，用血与肉、极致爱恨、至高理想，破解了敌人的阴谋,坚守了自己的心中理想与信念。

該劇以新中國成立前三個重要歷史前夜為背景，講述了林昔、蘇楠等不同身份的熱血青年，秉承以身報國的理想信念投身革命征程的故事。

Lin Xi, a member of a dockside gang, finds himself unintentionally caught in an intelligence war between the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics (BIS) and Japanese invaders due to a key.
