本作是《Pierrot魔法少女》系列的第4作。花之妖精传授给少女由美可以把画下来的东西实体化的魔法，从此开启了她愉快的冒险生活。本作与此系列之前的作品相比，在风格上发生了巨大转折。是一部让主人公变身成为偶像，以魔法少女的王道作品为目标创作出的作品。洞泽由美子在本作中首次担任角色设计，创作出了很有特色的柔和画风的角色。

Yumi Hanazono loves flowers. She does not perform well in school, but loves to draw, and wants to be a manga artist. Her family runs a flower shop so she has grown up with a floral appreciation. Yumi is a very good artist, but does not always use the best judgement when she chooses her subjects. On the day of the Flower Festival, she entertains the other children by drawing portraits of the Lady Fukurokouji on the walls of her mansion. An angry Fukurokouji makes her clean the entire wall, but as she is doing so, she sees Fukurokouji about to destroy a dandelion. After saving it, she replants it in a tulip field. To her surprise, it starts speaking to her. The voices belong to Kakimaru and Keshimaru, two flower elves who have come to the Human World to grant Yumi special powers as a reward for her kindness.

Susy est une jeune fille qui aime les fleurs et qui aime également dessiner. Ses parents, Félicie et Léon, tiennent une boutique de fleurs (d'où la passion de la jeune fille pour les fleurs). Un beau jour, Susy reçoit la visite de deux petits génies du pays des fleurs : Pistil et Pollen. Ceux-ci doivent trouver la fille qui pourra les aider à sauver leur monde en proie au désastre. Ils trouvent cette jeune fille en la personne de Susy. Pistil et Pollen lui donne donc un sceptre qui a le pouvoir de rendre les dessins réels durant un laps de temps défini.

Figlia di due giovani fiorai, Yumi Hanazono (Sandy in Italia), è una simpatica bambina amante dei fiori e del disegno. Il giorno del Carnival Flower, la festa annuale della sua città, la ragazzina dopo essere riuscita per caso a non fare recidere un dente di leone, riceve la visita di due folletti provenienti dalla Terra dei Fiori: Kashimaru e Kakimaru (Pico e Paco in Italia). Le due buffe creature pelose, rimanendo colpite dal grande affetto di Yumi per i fiori, regalano alla bambina una bacchetta e un ciondolo fatati con i quali potrà disegnare nel vuoto qualsiasi cosa rendendola reale.

花園ユーミは絵を描くことが何よりの楽しみという9歳の女の子。フラワータウンのひとり娘である彼女は、ある日花を大切にしてくれた感謝の印にと、花の妖精・かき丸とケシ丸から魔法のステッキを授けられる。そのステッキで描いた絵は、どんなものでも実物として飛び出すのだ。喜び勇んでステッキを振るうユーミだが、その効力にはタイムリミットが設けられていた。それでも、この不思議なステッキを手にしたことで、彼女の日常はスリルと冒険に満ち溢れた素敵な時間へと変わっていく。

主人公が大人に変身しないという点では、前3作とは大きく異なる印象を持つ本作。荒唐無稽なまでのファンタジー性にコメディ＆ペーソスを加味することで、ぴえろ魔法少女の新たな可能性を導き出した。

Yumi Hanazono adora flores. Ela não tem um bom desempenho na escola, mas adora desenhar e quer ser mangaká. Sua família administra uma floricultura, então ela cresceu apreciando as flores. Yumi é uma artista muito boa, mas nem sempre usa o melhor julgamento quando escolhe seus temas. No dia do Festival das Flores, ela entretém as outras crianças desenhando retratos de Lady Fukurokouji nas paredes de sua mansão. Um furioso Fukurokouji a faz limpar a parede inteira, mas enquanto ela faz isso, ela vê Fukurokouji prestes a destruir um dente-de-leão. Depois de salvá-lo, ela o replanta em um campo de tulipas. Para sua surpresa, ele começa a falar com ela. As vozes pertencem a Kakimaru e Keshimaru, dois elfos das flores que vieram ao Mundo Humano para conceder poderes especiais a Yumi como recompensa por sua bondade.
