新破坏大帝惊破天率领的原始兽和白狮擎天柱率领的巨无霸在一颗名为盖亚的行星上争夺灭世魔能——Angolmois Energy（“Angolmois”，本意是16世纪法国著名占星家诺查丹玛斯（Nostradamus）在其预言名著《诸世纪》中提及的“恐怖大王”的名字：“安哥尔摩亚”。），从盖亚人遗留的信息中得知，灭世魔能是种未知的能量，用之不当可能毁灭全宇宙。惊破天召唤来他的人工行星——复仇星，妄图使用复仇星将盖亚的灭世魔能全部吸收，以便将复仇星变成一艘完全的宇宙要塞，进而以所谓的“绝对力量”统治全宇宙。在复仇星大决战中，白狮擎天柱将灭世魔能封入平衡舱并发射到宇宙中，惊破天最终被白狮擎天柱击败，同复仇星一起爆炸。

Beast Wars II verwijst naar de Japanse televisieanimatieserie Transformers uit 1998 en de film en speelgoedlijn die daaruit voortkwamen. De serie werd voorafgegaan door Beast Wars en werd gevolgd door Beast Wars Neo.

De serie heeft een veel lichtere toon en is meer op kinderen gericht, terwijl het meer toegankelijke Beast Wars voor een bredere leeftijdscategorie bedoeld was. De serie maakt ook gebruik van conventionele animatie in plaats van CGI zoals Beast Wars: Transformers. Met uitzondering van de factieleiders zijn alle personages in de serie opnieuw gevormd of opnieuw gekleurd van eerdere Beast Wars-figuren of Generation 2/Machine Wars-figuren.

Naast de 43 afleveringen is er ook een film van 50 minuten, Beast Wars II: Lio Convoy's Close Call!, die zich ergens tussen aflevering 32 en 38 afspeelt.

Beast Wars II refers to the 1998 Japanese Transformers television animated series, and the movie and toyline that resulted from it. The series was preceded by Beast Wars, and was followed by Beast Wars Neo.

The series has a much lighter tone and is aimed more towards children, whereas the more accessible Beast Wars was intended for a wider age range. The series also uses conventional animation rather than CGI like Beast Wars: Transformers. With the exceptions of the faction leaders, all of the characters within the series are either re-molds or re-colors of earlier Beast Wars figures or Generation 2/Machine Wars figures.

In addition to the 43 episodes, there is also a 50-minute movie, Beast Wars II: Lio Convoy's Close Call!, which takes place sometime between episodes 32 and 38.

Beast Wars II conta a história de uma batalha entre a equipe de Cybertrons (Maximals) de Lio Convoy e o exército de Destrons (Predacons) de Galvatron no planeta Gaia.
