Discuss XIII: The Series

I just watched Season 1 episode 12 "The Key". This operative XIII is an idiot at times. First, he kept the Skeleton Key in the first place instead of destroying it. He said it was too dangerous for anyone to have, but then kept it "for insurance"? And then after his memory got wiped and he tracked down the three watches with the pieces of software, how many times did he risk losing it to the bad guys instead of securing it? When he went back to save his father he kept the Skeleton Key with him instead of letting Jones hold it. He had no assurance he would not be killed and lose the software to Gearhardt's men, so taking it with him was a huge risk. Between the President and Gearhardt, which posed the greater risk? Gearhardt for certain. But he risked losing it to him. I am getting a bit tired of him promising things will go right, and then sabotaging himself, letting others down, and then acting like he did the right thing. XIII told Gearhardt "you'll never get it", and within 5 minutes he gave it to him to ransom his father.

The writing is getting poor. I can see the crises coming a mile away as the writers make the lead characters make stupid mistakes, to create tension.

Jones left the hacker dude alone with the Skeleton Key program. He left the apartment with it in order to go get lunch he said. I am betting he made a copy of it at that time.

The idea that the CIA would not have had that apartment under surveillance while the key was there is utterly absurd. That was a big tipoff that it would get stolen. Jones waited so long after she knew there was an attack and an attempt to steal the key before she called in support that it was too late arriving to do any good.

They exposed the key to so much risk of getting stolen in so many ways. Then after it gets stolen they all act surprised. Like "Damn, the bad guys stole it from us! How could that happen? Sorry about that."

It really is getting ridiculous.

Season 2 Episode 4 Tempest. XIII, this physically fit, nimble, coordinated man is piloting a boat in a stormy ocean. He is in the cabin as the boat leans to one side. AND XIII FALLS OUT OF THE CABIN AND OUT OF THE BOAT!!! Are you kidding me? He can't even stay inside the cabin of that boat.
