How the hell did Joe Morton win an Emmy for this show? Firstly, I can't shake off the TERMINATOR 2 association, but his character is sooooo annoying. Who talks like that? I'm only on Season 5. Does it get better or worse?

You better stop watching cuz most of us love Joes delivery and it does not change. I never saw Terminator so thats your own problem.

So, I'm assuming that the show is deliberately arch and overcooked (read irritating). I hate when they keep calling themselves 'gladiators' too.

Don't watch then🀦

That's right!

So irritating to have posters that bash.πŸ˜’

I don't think the OP was bashing. S/he wasn't a fan of the actor. That's all.

No. Read again...bashed the show as well. Can't please everyone.😒. Last episode was very exciting.

Do you think I'd have watched up to Season 5 if I hated the show?! I just thought that it had become way too arch and almost a parody of itself. Especially when Joe Morton goes into multiple diatribe/monologues about how his daughter knows so little about the real world. God, I've never heard anyone ever remotely talk like that!

I guess you've never heard a black pastor, or people, who want to preach to you. speaking_head

I've seen preaching on TV and film, but have never experienced been preached at. It would be lost on me anyhow!!

It's an experience I tell you. You just kind of have to stand there and absorb it or pretend to do that.

Eh, sounds terrible. I have seen the TV show PREACHER, and Dominic Cooper is pretty cool in that (for a preacher, that is!).

Hmm.. those shows kind of fall flat for me, but I did like the reality show, Preachers of LA.

I saw him in T2, but I associate Joe Morton with A Different World. I keep hoping that Scandal will have Jasmine Guy guest star as a potential love interest for Papa Pope. joy That being said, I used to find his monologues annoying, but not I just sit back and enjoy them for what they are. He is over the top, but so is everyone on the show. I mean, who walks like Olivia Pope? LOL

Joe Morton was amazing in Eureka, I LOVED that show! I was so sad when they cancelled it, for some reason they always do that when I find shows I really like πŸ˜”

Anyway, I think he is great as Rowan, he delivers his lines perfectly. And yes he sounds like a preacher but I think that's the whole idea. Rowan wants to be the voice of reason and damned be if you don't listen.
