Emily (Kelly Bishop) organisiert eine Party zur Eröffnung der Firma und sieht dort endlich Rory (Alexis Bledel) wieder. So erfährt sie von dem Unfall, an dem ihrer Meinung nach natürlich Lorelai Schuld ist, weil sie Rory nicht von Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) ferngehalten hat. Daraufhin entbrennt ein Streit zwischen Lorelai und Rory, die nicht mehr wie ein kleines Mädchen behandelt werden möchte. Sie klärt ihre Mutter darüber auf, dass sie an dem Unfall ebenso beteiligt war wie Jess. Genervt von Lorelais Uneinsichtigkeit fährt Rory zurück nach Stars Hollows, wo sie auf Luke (Scott Patterson) trifft. Der hatte sich nach dem Streit mit Lorelai eine kleine Auszeit genommen und stimmt mit Rory völlig darin überein, dass Jess nicht alleine für den Unfall verantwortlich ist.
