If you are an 18 year old and sleep so close to your mother, that alias is a beautiful woman, you will inevitably get excited. Especially during sleep. Did Norman never have an erection asleep hugging Norma? I think it's kind of unrealistic.

I disagree, remember that she's his mother and even if your mom is as beautiful as Vera is, she still the woman that Norman grew up with; There's a huge difference. I don't think is 'inevitably' at all.

I think it's very possible and quite likely. It's an autonomic thing at a certain level.
