So glad this board's here to continue classy IMDB style discussions...

The annoying thing about this is that the only thing i have heard about the new season is that the companion is gay, oh and matt lucas is in it...

... and he isn't gay in it 😁

Anyway, if you have to have a male doctor / female sidekick, making her gay this time around is surely no bad thing - Peter Capaldi's a bit too old to be leering up alongside much younger girls.

The last thing the BBC requires is anything looking too Jimmy Savile-y in it's flagship family drama...

You've got a point there. I had the constant romance. I don't want the companion to fall in love with the Doctor.

ok I watched it... Me thinks Bill will be a good companion after all.

not only is she gay shes a female and black so they get to check three pc boxes with this one,oh yes I almost forgot they added an ugly dumb white male to the cast another checked box.

I like her myself. My only complaint is I really have to concentrate sometimes to understand what she is saying (I never have a problem with Capaldi's accent, FWIW).
