Discuss Doctor Who

SPOILER ALERT

Just in case people don't know or don't want to know....

How can the Master be man and woman in this series? I thought Missy was the Master but John Simm's Master returns so how is that possible? Two Masters at the same time? Timey-wimey space paradox explanation?

Two Masters for the price of one. Sort of BOGOF (buy one, get one free) of Doctor Who!

I hope Moffatt backtracks and makes Missy some kind of fake master, or even The Raini.

There have been multi-Doctor stories, but never a multi-Master one, Moffat wants to make history before he leaves.

It's a time travel show

bc you don't have to be consistent with a scifi show... and they're probably setting up a PC move later on for the Doctor to be a woman... who's probably a dyke with a handicap.

I can't believe I'm saying this but a female Doctor might work. Okay, worst case scenario: it might be an interesting mistake... like Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister. grin

Well much like the Doctor, the Master could run into his previous incarnations.
This usually is due to tampering such as in "The Three Doctors" and the "Five Doctors" as going back on your own timeline is prevented by the Blinovitch Limitation Effect.
It is never made clear if this is a natural phenomena or one regulated by the Time Lords. Since in New Who their influence is lessened if they are responsible then it may occur more easily.
I assume the Simm's Master would have to be from a earlier point in his timeline than when he decided not to regenerate in the awful "Last of the Time Lords".
I guess they will ignore that he looks older, but they always have to do that. Most notably in "The Two Doctors" or "Time Crash"

Or Missy isn't the Master
