Discuss Indian Summers

I really enjoyed this series. Had hoped it would continue as the times and locale are certainly interesting. And the opportunity to see the beautiful Jemima , Fiona, Aysha, and Olivia.

Seems like if it is not police procedurals, murder and mayhem, doctors or lawyers, good luck.

Glad Percy got what was coming to him at least.

I, too, enjoyed this series, and would have liked to see it continue for at least one more season. As it was, it felt like it wound down unnaturally quickly.

If I'm correct that Percy was the character who was Alice's husband who was the insufferable emotionally abusive tool, yes, he earned an unpleasant end, for sure!

I think you mean CHARLIE. I just binge watched the series for the first time and so it's fresh in my mind. Percy is the name of Charlie and Alice's son :) I'm also glad that Charlie got his comeuppance... it was awful the way he treated her.

I am sorry that it was not renewed... it would have been brilliant to see it go all the way to India's independence and the partition (which left hundreds of thousands, possibly a few million, dead :( ). It's one of those untold stories. I enjoyed the balance that this series presented.

My favourite was probably Nikesh Patel as Aafrin. He was brilliant. The character felt so real!

Oops: Yes, you're definitely correct - the name of Alice's sickening husband was Charlie, rather than Percy. Thanks for that correction, bolly.

From what I've read about the series, it had been anticipated that it would be a major hit, though only caught on so-so with the public. So while most of it had been filmed with expectations of that it would continue, it wound up needing to unceremoniously switch gears near the end and speedily wrap things up, rather than things being allowed to run their natural course.

No worries :)

Yeah I am so surprised at that. To me, it was on par with Downton Abbey. I did notice that things had to be wrapped up pretty quickly in a short amount of time, which was a shame :( Even so, I am glad of the ending it got. At least MOST loose ends were tied up...

yes thank you ...I did mean Charlie...still wish for series 3.
