Discuss The Principal

Hey y'all - I loved this show. It was riddled with problems, and some of the scripting was clumsy at best, but it was a positive, optimistic outlook and really sincere and genuinely heartwarming series, which is very rare these days. However, there were a couple of things insinuated, and plot lines teased, which specifically felt unfulfilled - in particular the maths teacher, who was a very sinister presence throughout, but whose character was never developed. The final episode also felt rushed, as if they had anticipated having longer to draw out the plot lines, and I was really interested in Sisi, for instance, and his relationship with the girl who Karim had become entangled with, but that was never fleshed out either, and they were still just canoodling at the end as if there'd been no issues.

I wonder if this was one of those rare flashes of promise that are cancelled before they have a chance to actually blossom? (Like Rubicon - one of my favourite tv shows of all time, and Terriers, which was a one series wonder if ever there was one). What did you guys make of this?

If you've not yet seen it, it's only 4 episodes and very easy viewing, well worth taking the time in my view.
