Dr. Chance, played brilliantly by Hugh laurie, is the direct opposite of Dr. House. This is a dark thriller which holds one's interest till the very end. Ethan Suplee is spectacular, as he assists Dr. Chance into the dark underbelly of San Francisco.

It's an alternate time line where House falls in love with a woman during his residency. She breaks up with him and he begins stalking her. He gets arrested, hospitalized and loses everything. After all this, he still succeeds in becoming a doctor, and he is working in San Francisco as a neuropsychiatrist under the name of Chance.

A lot of Dr. Chance' background was revealed in season 2. I just imagined that this could have been Dr. House if he'd followed a slightly different path in life and specialized in psychiatry, instead of diagnostics, and then moved to San Francisco (not New Jersey).

You're welcome.
At the end of season 2, Dr. Chance is living in Mexico (Tijuana) and has a clinic there.
The TV show "House (2004-2012)" ended with Dr. House (presumed dead) and Dr. Wilson (terminal cancer) on a final road trip.
It'd be interesting if they also went to Mexico, and Dr. House started a clinic there.

Hugh Laurie is a great actor and comedian. I love his skits with Stephen Fry.

Yes, both are brilliant.
I've seen them in "A Bit of Fry and Laurie (1987-1995)", "Blackadder (1983-1989)" and "Jeeves and Wooster (1990-1993)".
I loved him in the silly, little known movie "Girl From Rio (2001)".
