Discuss Still Star-Crossed

So the network execs must all sit in their offices trying to clone Game of Thrones. I have to give these guys credit for finding a well-known story to build on. I assume it is credible history that the Italian city-states would battle for supremacy. I do know that Venice destroyed most of the original Parthenon, at least that is what the tour guide said. Somehow the execution here falls short, and with execution, I mean to include casting. IMHO, there was nothing appealing to make the viewer come back. Maybe the story should not have included the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? That and the other early deaths made for a large cast that was difficult to keep up with. Also, the characters that died were more interesting than the characters that lived so many viewers may have been disappointed. Still looking for a big summer hit. Maybe Salvation, which at least benefits from the expectation that CBS will try summer originals just as they did with Under the Dome, Extant, and Zoo, will get viewers to give it a try.
