话说在可以看见的未来，由于发明出了绝对循环利用绝对无公害的新能源——西斯马引擎，由于这项发明，油田荒废，核能炉解体，人类通过这第三次能源革命，进入了繁荣的新时代。 　　然而暗波涌动，暗地里两股势力正在进行着惊心动魄的斗争。 　　一方是企图征服世界的秘密结社——BF团；而正义的一 边则是由一群身怀绝技的正义的超能力特工组成的国际警察机构。而在这批正义的战士中，有一名操纵史上最强的机器人——GR的少年。 　　他的名字就是——草间大作！

Dr. Shizuma invented a revolutionary new form of renewable energy drive but had to pay a heavy price for his success in a catastrophic accident that the world wants to forget. 10 years later the secret organization Big Fire have obtained two of three mysterious Shizuma drives as part of their world domination plans. The third drive has however been taken by Dr. Shizuma who during his escape is saved by Giant Robo. A desperate struggle begins between the Giant Robo and Big Fire for the control of the last drive as Big Fire unleashes their ultimate weapon, the Eye of Volger.

An 2023. Une équipe de savants menée par le professeur Shizuma met au point le Shizuma Drive, un générateur d'énergie propre et renouvelable. Suite à cette invention révolutionnaire, le monde entre dans une nouvelle ère de paix et de prospérité. Mais, dans l'ombre, une organisation secrète du nom de Big Fire tente de faire basculer le monde dans le chaos afin de pouvoir le conquérir. Heureusement, une police internationale composée des Experts de Justice est là pour s'opposer à Big Fire, grâce notamment à Daisaku Kusama, un jeune garçon qui peut contrôler le robot le plus puissant du monde, Giant Robo…

Die Erde hat ihre dritte Energie-Revolution hinter sich und sämtliche Energiegewinnung funktioniert nun mittels des sogenannten "Shizuma Drive", eine vollständig wiederverwertbare Energiequelle, die obendrein keine Schadstoffe hinterlässt. Diese Kraftquellen versorgen nun den gesamten Planeten, womit Umweltverschmutzung und Resourcenknappheit der Vergangenheit angehören.

So schön diese neue Welt auch ist, gibt es immer noch diverse Probleme, insbesondere zwei rivalisierende Mächte, die sich in einem erbitterten Kampf befinden. Die erste wäre die "Big Fire Organization", welche die Welt mit ihrer gigantischen Roboterarmee erobern möchte. Deren Gegenspieler ist die "International Police Organization", die aus einem Team von Spezialagenten besteht, welche sogar über Superkräfte verfügen. Sie gebieten ebenfalls über den mächtigsten Roboter auf dem Planten; den Giant Robo, der von Kusama Daisaku gesteuert wird.

In un futuro parallelo, la Terra vive un momento di splendore grazie alla scoperta del Sisma Drive, una fonte di energia virtualmente inesauribile e dall'alta compatibilità ecologica. Tuttavia la pace è ben lungi dall'essere raggiunta: due potenti organizzazioni si fronteggiano sullo scacchiere internazionale, la Società Segreta BF e l'Organizzazione di Polizia Internazionale. A fianco di quest'ultima c'è Daisaku Kusama ed il suo enorme Giant Robot, un mecha dall'apparenza retrò ma dall'enorme potenza e dall'origine poco chiara.

Improvvisamente, dalle nebbie del passato ricompare Franken Von Vogler, uno dei membri del team di ricerca originale del Sisma Drive e causa dell'orribile tragedia di Vashtal, durante la quale è stato creduto morto. Il suo proposito è la vendetta: sui suoi colleghi che si sono presi il merito del Sisma Drive e sull'umanità, che lo ha trattato come un criminale. Il suo atto iniziale è l'oscuramento di Parigi, con un processo che letteralmente annulla l'energia del Sisma Drive con il suo opposto e l'uccisione di 3 dei 5 membri del team di realizzazione del Sisma Drive. L'unico sopravvissuto, il professor Sisma, chiede aiuto alla Organizzazione di Polizia Internazionale ma ben presto si scopre che ad appoggiare i piani di Vogler è proprio la società segreta BF e l'enigmatico Gen'ya. Dopo una serie di terribili scontri tra gli agenti delle due organizzazioni e rispettivi robot, la verità celata per tanti anni verrà rivelata sul Sisma Drive, sulla sua realizzazione e sulla tragedia di Vashtal.

가까운 미래, 인류는 제3의 에너지 혁명을 가져온 ‘시즈마 드라이브’의 발명에 의해 일찍이 없었던 번영의 시기를 맞이하였다. 어디 하나 쓰이지 않는 곳이 없는 시즈마 드라이브는 인류를 안락한 세상으로 인도하는 듯 했다. 하지만 세계최대의 시즈마 발전소 세인트 아바에가 완성되기 직전 시즈마 드라이브의 개발자 중 한사람인 시즈마 박사가 한 개의 샘플과 함께 국제경찰기구 엑스퍼트들에게 구출되는 일이 발생한다. BF단은 이 시즈마 드라이브를 장악하면서 세상을 손아귀에 넣겠다는 야욕을 불태우는 집단. 이 단체의 정점엔 빅 파이어(Big Fire)라는 정체불명의 사나이가 있고 ‘10걸집’이라는 일군의 초능력자들이 그를 보좌한다. 여기에 맞서는 국제경찰기구에는 엑스퍼트 ‘구대천왕’이 초인적인 전투를 편다. 거기에 12세 소년 쿠사마 다이사쿠가 조정하는 자이언트 로보는 과연 악인들로부터 세상을 구할 것인가.
