Just wondering what everybody thinks Project Atlas is?

the government has their own ark and they've already decided who goes

Well based on the events of the last week's episode and finding out that Darius' piece of the meteorite for the EM drive was a chunk of a much larger piece, and seeing them go to his uncle in the UK for some more of it, tells me this could have something to do with Atlas. I'm thinking that meteorite was a part of a similar asteroid that was about to collide with Earth as well and the government tried to stop it by breaking it up instead of deflecting it like they are trying to do now with the current one. By breaking it up, it cause large pieces to fall in various parts of the world, causing human casualties in the process. To prevent mass panic and deter any wrongdoing, the U.S. government denied any knowledge of what really happened and had the details locked away or destroyed. This is could be why Harris warned Grace about never mentioning it, he's afraid of the wrong eyes and ears finding out and causing public chaos.

I'm also thinking that the last time, Russia were the ones to come up with the idea of how to destroy it and the U.S. in the end took credit for it and angered the Russians. Now that they are the ones responsible for taking the EM drive and all its data and schematics, I'm thinking that Russia's going to take credit for the invention of the drive as a means of revenge.

i think your on the right track there, but, only time will tell...

*****************Spoiler*****************************************So the show's current reveal is that

Project Atlas was a weapon made to look like an asteroid. Don't know if that is the final word, but you have to admit it is pure genius. Destroy your enemies while nature takes the blame. Fracking may show us that we are close to that technology to weaponize earthquakes but there has to be a fault line. Weather as a weapon is good too, but that technology seems more unlikely. Salvation really has something for everyone. Surprising plot twists, suspense, danger, and plenty of soap opera romance. You have to admit using the Russian truth serum to get Darius and Grace together was inventive. Maybe the creative team will have better luck with their next project.

I wonder who was in Grace's house at the end of episode 8 after Darius left?

A very good question and an unexpected twist. Just when we thought everyone was on the same page, suddenly there could be another side that wants to control the resolution of the asteroid.

Well, we know now don't we; the President is 'ill' (crazy)

Nice!

The Chelyabinsk meteor was a superbolide caused by an approximately 20-metre near-Earth asteroid that entered Earth's atmosphere over Russia on 15 February 2013 at about 09:20 YEKT (03:20 UTC), with a speed of 19.16 ± 0.15 kilometres per second (60,000–69,000 km/h or 40,000-42,900 mph). It quickly became a brilliant superbolide meteor over the southern Ural region. The light from the meteor was brighter than the Sun, visible up to 100 km (62 mi) away. It was observed over a wide area of the region and in neighbouring republics. Some eyewitnesses also felt intense heat from the fireball. The meteor was a real event and was the opening for the first episode (I love how they tied the real events into the storyline). The only "evidence" that has to do with Atlas is a photo of two Russian kids near what looks like apart of that meteor fragment with Tanz technology fused to it, probably a piece of the Chelyabinsk (I havea real piece of it, btw...I'' a collector). I think the Russians believe that America intentionally used Project Atlas to project it towards them when it exploded over the sky. This is also why they framed Tanz for hacking NASA. Also, in the first episode, we are shown how they already have a plan, using a tractor beam to guide the object off course. What if the United States tried to do this and it caused the Chelyabinsk meteor to explode over Russia instead of over the United States? This could be why they keep saying "Retribution." Just a thought.
