I binged the first season of Salvation (is it over?) based on seeing it appear on TMDB main page. After watching the pilot I was hooked! I actually paused the show almost immediately to see if the "Chelyabinsk meteor" had been a real thing (I had not heard of it before, but something about the way it was presented made me think it could have been). So the premise of the show (an NEO hitting Earth), which is a feasible concern for anyone viewing the series, combined with the drama of private industries, governments and individuals trying to avoid the inevitable all the while keeping it a secret (again, something plausible), had me intrigued and expectant. But far too quickly the show devolved into ridiculous soap-opera-esk drama, made-for-tv soft thinking and safe "we've-seen-this-a-thousand-times" drivel. What a shame.

I mean, I give them credit for hitting on a gold-mine idea, but wow, did they drive it into the toilet in a hurry. I'm not sure I can hold my nose long enough to suffer through it.
