ey ya i have solution for all this problem, why not TMDB add 2 different version of money heist or la casa de papel tv series ? one is original version of money heist and another is netflix version of money heist so we can still catch up and looking for new episode, just like IMDb they made netflix version, so people dont confuse.

You have to add an Episode Group or Argumental Arcs. In fact, there is already a Netflix (Digital) group created with the four parts instead of two seasons. Do you know what I mean?
I know this is a problem for Kodi users, but you cannot duplicate a TV show, ok? Kodi's themoviedb addon cannot scrape from Episode Groups at the moment, but only from real seasons. You have to ask for this feature on Kodi addons subforum, mate.
Un saludo.

I have a lot of respect for all the rules, but I still don't know how to make my application work with this TV show... To me we have here 2 different shows: 1 original "La casa de papel" and another one "Money Heis" for Netflix: they didn't simply distribute the TV show but they completely changed all the episodes from the season 1. It won't be so horrible to have those 2 shows are they are slightly different. I believe the moderators have to be a bit flexible for all the people that are asking for this change... And it won't hurt...

I totally agree with @doofire.
This one is to the devs. If you do make an alternative ordering system like tvdb, please expose it in your API so other applications can use it. Thank you!

Alternative orders have been available on the API for almost two years. But TMDb does not have support for very different episode cuts and, as far as I know, no TV database has that feature. We started keeping track of TV series with edited versions around the same time episode groups were launched. So far, we have close to 40 different shows with at least two versions (too many to create one or two duplicate entries for each one).

Since when doesn't Kodi support episode groups? Last time I checked (a few months ago), they worked perfectly using parsing nfo files. If I remember correctly (I'm Plex user) you must remove TV show from Kodi, add correct .nfo file and rescan it in Kodi again.

I didn't mention "nfo" at all because I was referring to the automatic process of scrapping without having to add an nfo file. Of course you can add an nfo file and scrape from Episode Groups instead of seasons, but I think that users who are asking to add several versions of the same tv shows have no clue of what a nfo file is, either. So...

TL;DR: List the Spanish TV version under Specials and the Netflix episodes regularly under Seasons (or vice versa, if necessary)
Judging from the amount of reported problems and threads mods need to close, there clearly exists an issue with this series.
Strictly following the 'one entry per series' policy does not allow for two seperate entries to be created, to accomodate both the original Spanish TV version and the new Netflix version. I suspect that only a very small percentage of users actually needs the entries concerning the Spanish TV version and that most people need data on the Netflix version.
To enable Kodi users, who I presume without knowing, make up a significant amount of users and contributors, if not the vast majority, to actually make use of this entry, we should find some way to incorporate both versions in this entry. Unless we do that or ease up on 'one entry per series', there will always be issues with people trying to scrape the Netflix version with the entries for the original version, which cannot work, simply because of the different number of episodes.
So, to avoid lots of people having to manually create .nfo's and images for the Netflix episodes, why not have the entries for one of the versions under Specials?
Preferably, move the Spanish TV entries to the Specials section and create new entries for the Netflix version in the regular Seasons, because the overwhelming majority of users will want the Netflix version. If that conflicts with some other policy, at least let us create the Netflix episodes under Specials, while leaving the original version where it is.
And maybe it is even possible to create a new Episode Order from Specials only, which then reflects either the Spanish TV or the Netflix version and their season structure?
With the other version listed under Specials, Kodi users could scrape the Netflix version with relative ease, first and foremost without having to create .nfo's and images for each episode. And you'd be rid of the continouus stream of Content Issue reports.

I totally agree with @chingelord. There is no reason for TMDB to go against the majority of their users wishes.

I would agree that the Netflix releasing should be the default one as it's the most world-wild popular one.
But reversing the logic will also reverse the problem: Kodi (or equivalent user) having the Spanish version will have issue at well.
@franbc Do you know where can we ask for it exactly? I looked for github issues: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues
But it looks like they use it only for bug report, not feature asking.

The new Episodes 3 and 4 are the same for "orignal" vs "netflix" ? Can we add them please?

Hi guys, good news! We talked about it amongst ourselves and, since Money Heist is causing a lot of headaches for everyone involved, we agreed to trial-test @chingelord's solution. The regular seasons won't change, but the 22 edited episodes released exclusively on Netflix are now in the specials and they work very well with the episode group feature:
As it was said above, the episode groups feature is available via the API and many apps like Kodi already support them. If the app you're using does not, you can request it.

I am experiencing the same problem. Here in Brazil, netflix released 13 episodes, then 9, then 8, then 8 more, adding 4 seasons, but Themoviedb released only 31 episodes in two seasons. I need eight more. Help me for God's sake.

How do I use the episode group?
