Speaking of Takei, google searches, etc. I've had people curse me up and down for saying that old saw "You know what Star Trek is called in Japan? Sulu: Master Navigator" has been around for decades and they say it's just a myth, even after they look it up themselves.

Kelly Hu was also stunning in a couple episodes of NCIS (the original, not either of the knock-offs) as some kind of North Korean secret agent assassin as I recall, but my favorite role of hers is probably the short-lived (one season) series "In Case Of Emergency." check it out if you can find it. (Of course, the best part of that show was Lori Loughlin, but Kelly was a close second.)

That Seth Macfarlane gets Admiral Kelly Hu - plus Charlize Theron etc - while Discovery has to settle for Admiral Jayne Brook (who I also liked, but she's no Kelly Hu) seems to be significant.
