This was one of my favorite shows of hers. I know it was all about Mike Sisco having AIDS but I wish they would've told more of his backstory, like how he got to Dallas to begin with because his sister said how poor the family was they couldn't even afford air conditioning and that's why they went to the public pool that started the panic in the community. I've never understood how people will say "I hate it in my home town and I'm going to leave" but yet have very little money. In most cases it doesn't appear as if they are living on the street in New York or Los Angeles with no money, but maybe some are.
What was ironic in the update 25 years later is one of the angry people that was in the audience said he thought Mike would have done better staying in Dallas with his 'own kind' and people knew more about AIDS and its treatment than in that small town. Mike's sisters did say that Mike died living in California not in Williamson, but they never said why he left that area or how he got the money to leave and pay for housing once he got to California. I have a feeling Oprah paid for all of that, because she likely stayed in contact with him, but this was never said.
