Discuss Miss Scarlet and the Duke

I really enjoyed Season 1 and was glad a second season would follow. And while the season premier lived up to expectations, I'm sorry to learn Andrew Gower won't be appearing this time around! He was excellent as Rupert Parker and added some comic relief and pathos as the put-upon closeted gay son of an over-bearing mother. I suppose his female cousin Hattie, who's shown up as a companion to the battle axe mother while Rupert's on his honeymoon with his dour German bride Tilly, is meant to somewhat take his place in the story line. I also miss Nick Dunning as the snooty, obtuse superintendent. Likewise Kevin Doyle as the ghost of Eliza's father, Henry Scarlet. Those 3 actors always add a lot of character to any production. BUT the chemistry between Eliza and William is still there as is the interesting nature of the various cases. Good show!
